Blog Tour: Soul Control

Blurb:
Lead us not into temptation, deliver us from evil."

Words that ring true for seventeen-year-old Saydi Gardiner upon discovering her ancestry.  But if she has doubts, further confirmation is forthcoming and it comes in the form of a wickedly gorgeous Nathanael Braxton, when he steals her heart and cuddles into her sole - the last place the boy should be.

Nineteen-year-old Nathanael's unrelenting good looks aren't the only thing that make him dangerous - and he knows it!  However, his caring human side struggles with a loyalty - a loyalty that binds him to the hunt for the soul that will give his family the power they seek. There's only one problem: When he finds her, Nathanael falls in love with his prey - Saydi.

My Thoughts:
Soul Control starts out by introducing us to Saydi. She and her friends live in a boring town where nothing different happens, until Nathanael's family moves in. Nathanael and his brothers (all are triplets) and are all obviously hiding a secret. Lots of drama, twists, turns, and romance...

Pros:
This book had a very interesting storyline. The main two characters Nathanael and Saydi were pretty well written. I enjoyed their interactions, and those their plot-line was intriguing. The atmosphere of the book was well thought-out and realistic. I could actually "see" the town and the people that lived there. Very nicely done. The backstory definitely helped me understand the plot and what was going on. it made the story come to life and helped me get a firm grasp on the characters and their motivation.

Cons:
This is a petty little nitpicky thing..I hate the way Saydi is spelled. I liked her character a lot, but I just gritted my teeth when I saw it spelled that way. I don't know why. It didn't hurt the story just kind of was a distraction. I felt that a few of the characters didn't come across as teenagers, my biggest issue was some of the dialogue that Todd has in the beginning. Again, these aren't really BIG issues, just pet peeves and nit picks.

So all in all,  Soul Control is a fun quick read with a fresh new twist on YA paranormal. I really liked it! :)
